The US has despatched a long-range Military Tactical Missile Programs, ATACMS, to Ukraine to be used inside its territory.

Spokesman of the State Division, Vedant Patel mentioned the missiles have been despatched to Ukraine on the orders of President Joe Biden.

“I can affirm that the USA offered Ukraine with long-range ATACMS on the president’s direct course,” Patel advised reporters on Wednesday.

The long-range missile was a part of a March support bundle for Ukraine.

However Patel mentioned “we didn’t announce this on the onset with a view to preserve operational safety for Ukraine at their request,” including that the “missiles arrived in Ukraine this month.”

ATACMS missiles can hit targets as much as 300 kilometers away.
